Practice Management on Embodia - Part 1: Charting
Snippets can be used to make your charting faster. You can automatically fill in long text by simply typing just a few characters. If you find yourself typing the same text over and over, this text is a great candidate to be turned into a snippet.
Setting up your snippets
Snippets are private to your account. To manage your snippets, click on Charting settings under Charting in the top bar and then on the Snippets tab:
Click on New snippet and fill the form with:
- Key: A short sequence of text that you will type.
- Value: The text value that will be expanded once you type the key.
Using your snippets
Snippets can be used in questions that are of type free text - multiline text. If you have set up snippets on your account, a help notice under the text editor will appear with instructions on how to use the snippet.
Start by typing the hash symbol (#) followed by at least one character of a key from your snippets. This will provide you with suggestions of matching snippets. Choose the snippet by using the up and down arrows on your keyboard, your mouse, or by tapping on the suggestion on touch-supported devices. This will automatically replace the few characters you entered with the value of the snippet.
Adding a new snippet while charting
While charting, if you would like to create a new snippet from a text you have entered in the text editor, select the text, and then simultaneously hit the Meta (Command on Macs/Control on PC), Shift and S keys on your keyboard. In the popup, enter key of the snippet.
